Frequently asked
Everything you
actually want to know.
Real questions, straight answers. If yours isn't here, the contact page on your local venue gets you a real human.
The basics
Do I need experience to throw an axe? +
Nope. Every group gets a coach to teach them the basics and how to throw safely. First-timers stick the bullseye on day one — that's the whole point.
How old do you have to be? +
Most venues are 13+ with a parent or guardian, and 18+ on your own. Some venues host kid-friendly birthdays for ages 10+. Check your local venue page for specifics.
Is it safe? +
Yes. Each lane has a coach watching, the throwing area is fully enclosed by mesh and wood, and we use a one-thrower-at-a-time rule. We've hosted hundreds of thousands of throws without an injury.
What should I wear? +
Closed-toe shoes (this is required) and clothes you can move in. That's it. Dress for date night if it's date night — no axe is going to fly into your dress.
Booking
Do I need to book ahead? +
Strongly recommended, especially Friday/Saturday nights and any weekend. We do take walk-ins when lanes are open, but we can't guarantee a lane without a reservation.
How long is a session? +
Standard reservation is one hour. Most groups stay an hour and a half. Parties and corporate events run two to three hours.
Can I cancel? +
Yes — most venues let you cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your reservation. Check your confirmation email for exact terms.
How much does it cost? +
Around $25 per person for an hour, varies slightly by venue. Group discounts kick in at 6+ people. Birthday Club members get a free hour every year.
Groups & parties
Can I bring a group? +
Yes — that's most of what we do. Birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate outings, fundraisers, family reunions, team building. Book your local venue's Parties & Events page.
What's the maximum group size? +
Varies by venue. Most can host 30-50 people on a normal night and up to 80+ for a buyout. Larger groups should call ahead.
Do you do team building for companies? +
Yes. We've hosted everyone from law firms to construction crews. Email us through the Contact page on your local venue.
Logistics
Do you serve food or drinks? +
Most venues don't serve food but you're welcome to bring your own or order delivery. Drink offerings vary by venue — some have beer and wine, some are BYOB. Check your venue page.
Is there parking? +
Yes, free parking at every venue. Lot or street depending on the location.
Are you accessible? +
Every venue is wheelchair accessible. We can adapt the throwing setup for seated throwers — just let us know in advance.
